The Canada Company

The Canada Company is a new distillery located in Huron County. They needed a new logo, label designs for their Vodka, Gin, and Whiskey bottles, as well as a magazine ad and a unique mailer to send out to promote an upcoming event. They wanted their brand to feel handcrafted, approachable, and historical, focusing on the history and story of how Huron County was originally settled. They also wanted a fun and contemporary design that could appeal to a younger demographic.

This project was fairly challenging and meant that a lot of research needed to be done. Alcohol packaging itself is a unique niche to work within, and many lessons were learned along the way. While I’m happy with the overall style of the bottles, I would make the writing on the front of the bottles opaque to be more legible. One of the pitfalls of using an external printer is that some of the label colours didn’t translate from screen to print and aren’t as vibrant as I would like, so a second attempt at printing is also needed. This project was a huge learning experience though and overall I like the results.

This project was done using Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Photoshop.
